A much loved and ever popular fruit, dessert apples (sometimes referred to as eating apples) are those varieties that are sweet enough to be eaten ‘straight from the tree’ without any cooking required. One of the delights for any home gardener is watching apples ripen on the tree and then deciding which ones are ready to be harvested. With such a diverse range of appearances and flavours ranging from hints of strawberry to aniseed, an apple variety can be found to suit everyone.

Our apple trees are grafted onto M26 semi-dwarfing rootstock, which will produce a tree that is easy to grow, easy to control and easy to pick. Bush apple trees will grow 2.4-3.6m (8-12ft) in height and spread. Unless otherwise stated, apples are supplied as two year old bare root trees and will be 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) high on despatch (including the roots). If you require one year old maiden trees for training as an espalier or fan, please advise us when ordering. Trees are available from late November to late April.

Whether you’re a seasoned grower or a novice gardener, our selection of apple trees, grown here in the UK, offers something for everyone.

Are you yearning for the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity in your homegrown apples? Look no further than our amazing range of dessert apples. From time-honoured favourites to exciting new cultivars, our range of UK grown apple trees has something that caters to every palate and growing condition.

Perhaps you’re concerned about disease resistance or live in a challenging climate? Fear not, for we have options like ‘Red Devil’, known for its resistance to scab and mildew, making it an excellent choice for wet areas. Or consider ‘Fiesta’, a Cox-type, that thrives even in cooler regions.

For those with limited space, try Sibley’s Patio ‘Ceeval’ or Sibley’s Patio ‘Discovery’. These trees can be kept to a height of 1.2m (4ft) and are perfect for container growing.

We understand that choosing the right apple tree can be overwhelming. That’s why we’ve provided detailed descriptions for each variety, including flavour profiles, growing tips and historical background. Whether you prefer the aniseed notes of ‘Ellison’s Orange’ or the sweet-sharp tang of 'Beauty of Bath', you’re sure to find your perfect match.

At Pomona Fruits, we’re passionate about helping you succeed in your apple-growing journey. Our trees have been expertly grown in the UK and are carefully nurtured to ensure they thrive in your garden. With proper care, these apple trees will reward you with bountiful harvests for years to come.

So why wait? Explore our range  of apple trees today and take the first step towards a fruitful future.

Don't forget to include tree stakes and ties on your order. All young fruit trees require staking and for better establishment we strongly advise using Rootgrow when planting (as recommended in RHS planting guidelines).
