Are you longing to grow a variety of delicious fruits in your garden, but worried about limited space? Look no further than our selection of family fruit trees, the ideal solution for compact gardens and novice fruit growers alike.

Family fruit trees are ideal for small gardens where there is only room for a single tree. They consist of two (duo trees) or three compatible varieties grafted onto one tree, allowing you to grow several different varieties in a relatively small amount of space. The cultivars are carefully selected to cross-pollinate with one another so that they all get a good fruit set. Family trees are grafted onto semi-dwarfing rootstocks. They are supplied as bare-rooted, two year old trees and are approximately 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft) tall (including the roots) on despatch. Trees are available from late November/December to late April.

What are family fruit trees?

Family fruit trees combine two or three compatible fruit varieties on a single tree. These ingenious creations allow you to cultivate multiple cultivars in the space typically required for just one tree. They’re particularly well-suited for:

  • Small gardens.
  • Novice fruit growers.
  • Those seeking to grow several different varieties without the commitment to planting multiple trees.

Why choose family fruit trees?

  • Space-saving: Perfect for urban gardens or areas with limited planting space.
  • Variety: Enjoy different fruits from a single tree.
  • Cross-pollination: Cultivars are carefully selected to ensure optimal fruit set.
  • Convenience: Harvest different varieties without maintaining separate trees.

Our family fruit trees

At Pomona Fruits, we pride ourselves on offering a premium selection of family fruit trees for sale. Our trees are:

  • Grown in the UK.
  • Grafted onto semi-dwarfing rootstocks for a manageable size.

Caring for your family fruit tree

To ensure the best start for your new family fruit tree:

  • Use a tree stake and ties for support (don’t forget to add these to your order).
  • Use Rootgrow on the roots at the time of planting for optimal establishment.
  • Prune regularly to maintain shape and encourage fruit production.
