This range of patio fruit trees has been developed by British nurseryman and fruit authority Will Sibley over the last 25 years. Inspired by the gardens at Versailles in France where he first saw fruit orchards growing in large containers, Will has dedicated much of his professional career to identifying dwarf forms of existing varieties that will grow happily in large pots for many years to come. Special grafting techniques are used to keep the tree even more compact. The rootstock is a very important consideration but it it is not always the most dwarfing rootstock that is chosen as sometimes the tree needs to be invigorated to promote fruiting and to thrive in a pot.

Sibley's Patio Trees are supplied as a one year old trees in 4.5 litre pots. The trees are grafted at about 30cm (1ft) above soil level and have 2-3 shoots about 20cm (8in) long that will quickly develop into a bushy head.
